About the Artist
As a painter, Perez-Poulson is interested in intimacy, and struggles of the soul as subject matter for her paintings. In the complex and colorful portraits of the face and body, she attempts to create a space where the viewer and the subject can relate, where the painting acts as a mirror. Coming from a family of painters, she carries the legacy of self-portraiture and painting her loved ones. Isabel Victoria Perez-Poulson was born in Texas and has lived in both west Texas and central Vermont for her youth.
Perez-Poulson graduated from Maine College of Art & Design in 2023 with a BFA in painting. She is now a Production Potter and continues painting and general art-making practices.
